Andrew is a print and radio journalist who has been reporting from sub-Saharan Africa for more than five years, including a stint as Voice of America's South Sudan bureau chief. He writes often on the systems that perpetuate inequality and the people looking to disrupt them, with a regular focus on health, human rights and politics. He has received reporting grants from the International Reporting Project, the Fund for Investigative Journalism and New America.
Andrew is a graduate of Northwestern University and the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to explore the development of the independent media in Zambia. He is a sucker for '70s-era conspiracy thrillers and campaign narratives.
