Andrew is a print and radio journalist who has been reporting from sub-Saharan Africa for more than five years, including a stint as Voice of America's South Sudan bureau chief. He writes often on the systems that perpetuate inequality and the people looking to disrupt them, with a regular focus on health, human rights and politics. He has received reporting grants from the International Reporting Project, the Fund for Investigative Journalism and the International Center for Journalists.
Andrew is a graduate of Northwestern University and the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to explore the development of the independent media in Zambia. He spends any spare time watching '70s-era conspiracy thrillers or reading campaign narratives.
